A Few Tidbits

Wow.  It’s been a while since I’ve posted!  In my absence, it seems that gremlins took over my site and caused a few errors with my theme.  I had to reupload the theme to get it working again.  So, if you visited and noticed that the Home page didn’t look quite right, that is why.

There are a few things I want to update you on, in case you don’t already know:

MicroNicheFinder has been upgraded to v5

If you already use MicroNicheFinder (aka MNF), then you may already know about this upgrade.  However, I’ve been a user since about v1, and someone missed the upgrade email.  So, just in case you have it and didn’t know that there is a major upgrade available, be sure to go download it.  As with all major and minor upgrades/updates to MNF, the upgrade to v5 is free.

Michelle MacPhearson Released a Backlink Script

This is slick!  The script that Michelle is making available to anyone for free is called the “Rank Decoding Engine.”  Until now, this script was only available to Crowd Mountain (aka CM) members.

Michelle is currently in the process of giving CM a makeover.  It has been closed to new members for a few weeks, but will soon be relaunching.  The “Rank Decoding Engine” script is Michelle’s teaser to get new members.

In all honesty, this is an outstanding script.  Yes, I use it myself and love it!  I have written several reviews and posts about CM, and if you go back and read them, you will see where I talked about a script that lets you find the best sites to get backlinks from.  Well, that is THIS script.  It really does help with site rankings to get backlinks from the sites you see in this script.  The best part is that it takes the guess work out of what sites you should get backlinks from for any given niche.

The script works on both Window and Mac computers (way to go, Michelle, for thinking of us Mac users!!).  Go download it for free here.

Brian Johnson’s Latest Project

Sometime in either June or July, Brian Johnson (the creator of Commission Ritual and Auto Content Cash) will open a new program.  It will be focused on creating holiday niche sites, and will be very limited to membership.  I don’t want to give away specifics, because I haven’t checked with him to see if I can, but I do want to let you know now so you can start saving your pennies if you are interested.

This course will be pricy, but you will get intensive, highly focused training from Brian.  I am confident that those who do join will earn back their investments pretty quickly.

Think of this new membership site as a college class.  Brian will be limiting how many people can join, because he wants to be able to help each person as much as possible.  The program will run for three months, then be over, just like a class.  But, as with the knowledge gained in the classroom, you will be able to take what has been taught and apply it to any type of niche.

As an additional teaser, I happen to know what Brian has been given access to.  Members will be given at least three scripts/programs, one will be 100% free to use forever, no strings attached, the other two will grant users free use for a full three months.  Trust me, these are amazing products of huge value.  I happen to have all three of them and had to pay full price for them.  So, the lucky few who do join will be fortunate to get these.

One of My Sites Reached Number 1 on Google for its Keyword Phrase

This is a first for this site!  When I first saw the #1 rank two days ago, I was sure that it was a mistake.  But, I double checked it on Hide My Ass, an anonymous way to search Google that provides accurate results, as well as in Market Samurai.  Sure enough, this site really WAS at #1.  Mind you, the competition for this keyword phrase that reached #1 is very stiff.  The phrase itself only has just over one million broad results, but the top sites are very well optimized, making it tough to break into the top 10.

Thanks to what I learned first from Michelle MacPhearson, then later from Brian, I was able to get on the first page of Google.  This site has hovered around the #5 spot for months and months.

I wish I could tell you specifically what I did that made the difference, but with Google you never know.  But, I can say this.  I turned this site into a kind of hybrid site, using methods from both CR and ACC.  I really think that made the difference.  Will it last?  Who knows.  But I’m going to enjoy the ride while I can.

Oh, and did I mention that this site is beating out a VERY well known site in its niche, one that I’m sure you have all heard of?  No, I’m not gonna share, but it would be like my site beating out Martha Stewart’s site for a popular phrase we are both targeting (and, no, my site is not competing against Martha’s site).  Hee, hee!  I’m giddy over this.

Well, I think that pretty much wraps up things on this end.  How are you all doing?

    Hi Rochelle,

I’d just like to point out a couple of typos in your post, I hope you don’t mind.

Firstly, you AKA’d Crowd Mountain and referred to it from then on as CR.

Secondly, you credited Brian Johnson with creating Crowd Mountain.

I guess the excitement of a #1 spot on google sent you too giddy.

    Mick,

Oops! Thanks for the editing – I’ve corrected my errors.

  3. Hi Rochelle,

Sorry to say, but you’re still crediting Brian with creating Crowd Mountain.

Ack! That’s what I get for trying to fix it when I really needed to be out the door to see my 3rd grader’s chorus production (my mind was elsewhere). Lesson learned.

    Again, thank you.

    Rochelle;

I see your link to Hide My Ass and would like to know if you use it or have tried it. My main concern is does it slow anything down? If I were to use it, I would go for broke and use the full blown version. I watched their videos, etc, but the best way to find out the truth is to ask a user.

    Gust,

The only thing I’ve used Hide My Ass for is to check Google rankings for a keyword phrase. I am unaware of it slowing or breaking anything. I don’t even know what their full version is, so I can’t speak to that.

    I hope this helps,

  7. Hi Rochelle,

The new update on MNF is really good, they’ve just refined things a little and made it more user friendly, I was in on the webinar last night to see the new features in action.

I’ve been playing around with it all morning and now it’s costing me cus I’m finding too many niches :D .

Nice to see you back BTW!

    Ben,

    It’s good to be back!

I so wanted to be in on that webinar, but I had a chorus recital to attend, and, well, family comes first. But, I look forward to watching the video that James said would be available. Glad to hear that you are enjoying v5. I haven’t had a chance to play around with it yet, but I was already finding too many niches with v4. I might be in trouble ;)

    Rochelle,

Glad to hear your daughter has had a full recovery!

Thanks for this juicy update. My pregnancy has me still quite sluggish with morning sickness effects but I hope to be out of the woods completely by next month and ready for Brian’s holiday course.

I have ACC but haven’t been able to get my first site up at this point.

Lord give me strength at the ripe old age of 40:)

    Hi Rochelle,

I listened to the hype and downloaded Michelle’s backlink script, and also watched the demo video on the download page.

In it she mentions suite101 and ehow to get links on.

I have a question that I hope you can answer.

Unless I’m mistaken, when you sign up for suite101 and ehow, you’re only allowed to add one website to your profile. So how do get links for more than one site, or deep pages? Do you have to sign up with more than one account? Or is there another way to leave links?

  11. Rochelle says:

    Mick,

I’m afraid I won’t be much help to you. I didn’t watch the video, so I’m not sure what she said, but I don’t use sites like suite101 and ehow to get links. Michelle is very heavy on using Social Media for site promotion. It’s a method that does work, but it doesn’t fit my own personal way of doing things. In other words, I don’t like using Social Media methods.

I’m reaching into the recesses of my memory, from when I did try Social Media methods. Seems to me that sites like suite101 and ehow are used for article submission that include anchor text links. While Michelle recommends getting a new account for each site, this is one way around that (plus, you’ll get to a point where creating new accounts for every site you have will get confusing and tedious).

That being said, you CAN use her script to get tons of sites to get backlinks from that aren’t just social media.

    Did that help at all?

    Rochelle

  12. Rochelle says:

    Yoki,

May the nausea pass soon! That’s the worst, no doubt (except for the puking, which I did very little of, but there were times I felt so bad I wished I could just to alleviate the misery).

40, huh? I hear that 40 is the new 30, when it comes to having kidlets ;)

I turned 40 last year. My girls have often told me that they would like me to have another baby. I try to gently explain that it isn’t going to happen. You are braver than I!!!

Do you also have CR? If so, you might want to learn that system first. However, if you are already adept at creating small niche sites, then dive right into ACC. I’m currently making hybrid sites that incorporate both CR and ACC methods, and enjoy doing so.

Although I do not know exactly how Brian will teach his upcoming course, from what he’s told me, it sounds like it will be CR on steroids. I don’t think he will go into the ACC method, but I could be wrong. I’ll gladly share more as I learn of it.

    When are you due?

    Rochelle

  13. Yoki says:

I’m due the end of July and counting down the days with glee.

I was able to get a few 3 CR sites up and running in October and November before the nausea showed up.

2 Christmas sites and 1 apparel site which did and still does pretty well in adsense earnings.

Just haven’t been able to keep focused on much of anything but definitely hope that Brian’s new course will be more in the way of CR on steroids.
