Bans never worked for me in the first place..
Just cost me a bunch of dollars and a year of my time trying!

I’ve switched to WordPress and phpBay. I doubt if I’ll build any more BANS stores. I’ve also just built a site using Popshops almost exclusively. I’ll see how that goes. If it doesn’t work, I can easily switch it to phpBay. I’m cosidering getting the Overstock plugin, as well. My strategy is to keep diversifying into multiple niches, although, when I find a winner, I’ll also do one or more additional sites in the niche, employing a different strategy and content in each.

hi rochelle! good to see you back…i also stopped building new BANS sites a while ago in favour of PhpBay Pro plus wordpress although i definitely haven’t abandoned the old BANS sites – instead of building more and more new sites i concentrate on adding content to the old ones!

I’ve only had 1 site deindexed. All my other sites are doing well. I gave up on quantity and started to focus more on adding content, link-building, etc. to my current sites. I’m hoping that big G is only slapping out-of-the-box, no customization, little-content BANS sites and will leave mine alone!

My BANS sites have been doing fine. No problems with google. I removed adsense from my BANS sites a long time ago – I wasn’t aware of the deindexing problem as it hadn’t happened to me. The reason I removed adsense is that those ads force people to leave my web sites, and I don’t like that.

I’ve been able to put a lot of content in my BANS sites (they don’t look generic at all, but that took work on my part) and have only just begun experimenting with wordpress, which can work with BANS easily. I’m thinking about phpBay too. Overall, I’m doing well. phpbay could only improve that, I guess.

@ chelsea – IMO – since CONTENT is king these days, and since WordPress is THE way to go when it comes to niche sites, the PHPBay plugin works perfect for that application!

To be able to do a blog post on your niche and insert auctions in the blog post is the way to go! You want to attract visitors for the “content” and the products will the there waiting on them..

BANS still works, but getting away from that generic footprint it leaves, and using WP with PHPBay, to me is the way to go! IMO

really want to make another BANS site soon! Made one a few months ago, made $100 its first month…and sold it for $900 before I could see any more results. HAvent made another since, but I should thats for sure!! Very profitable obviously…now I see theres PHPpro? Whats the differnece…why should I switch?

Is it that noone is making $$ from BANS anymore or what? I noticed though that BANS sites get banned pretty easily..anyone have this problem? Is PHPpro better in this retospect

I was just thinking of putting up another site, but I need to motivate myself because it seems like a lot of work compared to some other options. Google de-indexed my site ages ago, but I’m still making a little money. Just takes a lot of time to tweak it.

I’m with Se7en – gave up BANS a while ago in favor of PhpBay Pro and haven’t looked back. Very flexible and the support is first class.
