Right now, I am totally excited!
As you know, I started building sites using the Commission Ritual method starting a little over two weeks ago. At the moment, I am not expecting much from these sites because I haven’t done any backlink building.
I’ve been keeping an eye on my stats and this one particular site has been getting dribs and drabs of traffic, but certainly not much to brag about. As of this morning, this particular niche site is ranking at the #11 spot in Google for the main keyword phrase that site is targeting. That site is promoting Amazon affiliate links.
So, I just checked my Amazon affiliate account and see that yesterday, someone placed an order for 10 (TEN!!!) items! Woo hoo! That is from a site that is less than two weeks old and has hardly an traffic or backlinks yet. In fact, I just checked this site through Market Samurai and there are NO backlinks for this site at all at this time (for those who don’t know, Market Samurai has the ability to see how many backlinks any given site has, plus other really great features).
I can now officially state that the Commission Ritual method works. One of the main reasons sites built using this method work so well at generating revenue is because they are HIGHLY focused on an individual niche with little competition and potential customers ready to spend money. I strongly encourage you to check out Commission Ritual to see if it will help you earn affiliate commissions, too.
Rochelle,
I am trying out the Commission Ritual 7 day trial.. It seems to be very promising.. I like the idea that it is focused on one product.. and not on a string of different products.. I though would think of using a more appealing website theme (I like my websites to look good visually) than the one that Commission Ritual provides..
Will see what happens…
David,
It sounds like you understand the concept. These sites are incredibly focused, and I’m finding that this makes research easier, as well as creating the sites. There are countless comments from Commission Ritual members of the Inner Circle who are amazed by how well this works (my comments are one of them).
I really like the Christmas themes that Brian released this past weekend, though I also like the theme I created using FlexSqueeze theme. But I can understand if you’d prefer to have a different look to your sites. Just remember, pretty doesn’t sell. Don’t spend too much time on how your site’s theme looks and focus more time on building sites.
Rochelle
That’s great news, the first of many sales I’m sure. Following his methods does seem to provide a sense of calm in a sometimes chaotic world of affiliate marketing.
Cheers!

Way to go..
By the way, I use http://backlinkwatch.com which is free yet a powerful web based tool to check for backlinks.

Anand,
Thanks for the info on the backlink checker. I’m not familiar with that one. I use Market Samurai, which is a keyword research tool, but it also keeps track of backlinks, so I use that to monitor my site’s backlinks, plus where each site ranks on Google for any given keyword phrase.

Hi Rochelle,
It certainly seems interesting, obviously I wouldn’t expect you to talk about it too openly but do you think it’s better than 30DC?
Ben Johnson´s last blog ..Amazon Affilate Tools: The Wordpress Options
Hi Ben,
Do you know, I’ve never actually done the 30DC! I discovered it too late last year to participate, and this year I just didn’t want to follow along. It seemed overwhelming to me to do a step each day.
So, I can’t answer your question. Perhaps someone here has done both and can provide insight?
Rochelle
Is this a lot different than Joel Peterson’s “The Mini Site Formula,” or how do the two compare?
Rhonda,
Sorry, never heard of that program, so I can’t give a comparison. Perhaps if you tell me the basics of that program I can say if that’s similar to the Commission Ritual method.
Rochelle
Ben, I think this is better than the 30DC. I am awaiting some articles being written, but when they are done I will be creating a lot of these sites. His ’site building ritual’ is probably a lot different style than what you’re used to. You HAVE to watch the videos to really follow along though. I found the eBook to be lacking in details on his actual setup but he goes through it all in the videos (there are a ton of videos). Definitely worth the $5.

Hey there Rochelle,
I’ve got a sweet update for you. I completed my first commission ritual site yesterday. Complete meaning, I setup my domain on web hosting, completed my content by cleaning it up and setting it up the way it should be to include those sweet nuggets it should have contained in it. I did my sidebar the way it should be and most importantly did a very small amount of site promotion at my favorite places by 7pm last night.
Well, this morning as I type this, my page is on the first page of big g and I’m ecstatic to say the least about the out of the box, website performance results.
I know you must be killing it Rochelle as you’re an solid writer, techy and per your most recent post, seem to be able to crank out several mini niche sites a day.
To a great Holiday Season!
Sunshine,
That is AWESOME!!! I’m telling you, Commission Ritual is an amazingly simple, yet highly effective, way to build sites. Keep me posted and let me know when you make your first commission earning.
FYI – I’m not making a killing just yet. I have three more sites to put up, and all my Christmas sites will be published. BUT, only one or two have affiliate links at this point. My intent for now has been to simply publish my sites and let them get indexed. Some time within the next week or two I will add affiliate links to the sites. THEN I can start making my killing ; )
The good news is that these sites are being indexed within a day or two of being published, and several are already on page one of google. The best part about that is that I have not done ANY backlinking on the sites that don’t yet have affiliate links in them, and they are still being indexed and ranking well. It’s those sweet nuggets you are talking about that, I believe, are making this happen.
Rochelle
Hi Rochelle,
Another quick update for you. Hopefully you aren’t sick of my update reports but you know how it is when your spouse can’t really get excited about the one dollar commission you’ve just earned.
However, Your peers in the trenches can appreciate that one dollar gain:)
The site I referenced two days ago has made one amazon sale after only one full day on page one of big g. I hope this is the first of many for that particular site.
Also, I have a question for you that I’d like to email you regarding those holiday wp themes Brian sent out last week. There’s one little thing I’d like changed but don’t know how and thought maybe you might.
Thanks.

Sunshine,
That is WONDERFUL that you have already earned your first dollar!!!
I’d be happy to see if I can help you with your question about the Christmas themes. Better send it quick, though, because I am currently packing for a trip my husband is taking me on early tomorrow morning. Click the ‘Contact Me’ button up above to send me a private email.
Rochelle
Your instructions worked like a charm.
Thanks!
Are the Christmas themes only available if you’ve signed up for the Inner Circle?
If not, where do I find the download link?

Great advice, i recently came across your blog and have been reading along.. What you wrote is great advice any way that you look at it.
I have enjoyed reading your posts about Commission Ritual, particularly the one that compared CR with Crowd Mountain. In that post you mention that one thing you like about the CR method is that it is not dependent on heavy backlinking which is very time consuming. In the first full paragraph of THIS post you say that you’re not expecting great results from your new (at the time of the post) CR sites because you haven’t done any backlink building. This seems to contradict the “not dependent on backlinking” feature you loved in the post comparing CR to Crowd Mountain.
Would you mind helping me with this apparent contradiction?
Does the CR method only involve seasonal campaigns like Halloween and Christmas or can it be used throughout the year in any niche?
Finally, what kind of support ia available to those who can only afford the $97 price of the course but not the $50 per month cost of the “Insider Circle”?
Thank you for helping me with these questions.
Kmac1,
You are asking excellent questions!
Re: Backlinking – If you follow the Crowd Mountain (aka CM) method, it teaches about getting LOTS of backlinks. The emphasis is on getting backlinks through social media sites, though other methods are also taught (and, for what it is worth, the Crowd Mountain Snooper tool is awesome for finding the best sites to get backlinks from, both social media and regular blogs). As stated, this is VERY time consuming.
On the other hand, Commission Ritual (aka CR) teaches how to get sites to rank with very few backlinks. So, my statement above was made before I had done any backlinking to my new sites. CR sites are built in such a way that you don’t need a lot of backlinks, though you certainly can get more as your sites age. But, if you follow the CR method, it is important to NOT get many backlinks for the first few months.
Re: Is CR just for seasonal niches? – No, the CR method is not limited to seasonal niches. Inner Circle members for CR have available to them training videos that explain how to build seasonal sites, specifically Halloween and Christmas, but the methods used to build these sites can be used for ANY niche.
Re: Support for CR only purchases – That one is hard for me to answer, simply because I am an Inner Circle member. In other words, I didn’t just purchase the CR, so never put customer service for just CR to the test.
I’m going to send an email to Brian Johnson (the creator of the CR method) and ask him. I’ll let you know what he says.
Rochelle
Thank you Rochelle, I appreciate the reply. And thank you in advance for letting me know what Brian says.
Kmac1,
You are welcome. Did my response help clarify what I meant about the difference of backlinking between CM and CR?
Rochelle
Your comment was a tremendous help. The fact that CR goes against the grain of current backlinking strategies makes it even better in my estimation. The majority of what’s being taught on the internet today with respect to backlinks is nothing more than short term gimmickry. As soon as the guru of the week launches their “Backlink Ninja” course to a 1000 people, and those 1000 people in turn become affiliates marketing the same “system” to tens of thousands of other people Google has already begun to devalue the strategy. NO ONE IS GOING TO OUTSMART GOOGLE!!! Sooner or later the internet marketing community will “get it” that the search engines want unique, quality C-O-N-T-E-N-T. The internet is called the Information Superhighway. Not the Affiliate Marketing Superhighway. Not the Backlink Superhighway. Not the Network Marketing Superhighway. Not the Web 2.0 Superhighway. Not the Bum Marketing Superhighway. Not the Social Bookmarking Superhighway. And certainly not the Let’s Spam Every Blog With Garbage Profile Links Superhighway. Maintaining a good relationship with the engines does not lie with this week’s hot gimmick but with aligning targeted searches with relevant information. Period. From what you and others have to say about CR it seems Brian Johnson gets it. I think I’ll get his course.
Kmac1,
Brian Johnson responded to the question of whether or not there is support for those who only purchase the CR method, but do not join the Inner Circle. He said that, yes, there is support. He has an assistant who helps answer questions that are emailed to him.
Rochelle
Thanks again Rochelle.
Kmac1,
I just published a new post stating that Commission Ritual purchasers now have access to the CR forum. This was just announced today.
So, there is now a new format for support if you only purchase the CR method but don’t join the Inner Circle.
