Earlier today my husband asked if Crowd Mountain is really as good as I say it is. He reads my blog and had recently read the posts I’ve written about it. I figure if he is wondering this, others may be, too.
Here’s the truth. I think Crowd Mountain is the best membership site that I have been a member of. Period. The information taught by Michelle is outstanding. She really wants people to succeed and she has laid out everything you need to do in an easy-to-understand method. Her videos are top-notch. Her worksheets are very helpful. Her modules are presented in a logical fashion that is done at just the right pace.
This past Friday I gained access to the final module, Module 6. I have not yet had a chance to watch the videos, but I have no doubt they will be as good as the other five. Every one of the modules I have completed (mods 1-5) have been full of excellent information.
Here’s a tip for any of you who may join or already joined: Make sure you watch every video, even if you think you already know what it will contain. There have been several videos that I almost skipped because I was already familiar with the topics they covered. I am so glad I didn’t, though, because Michelle puts her own spin on the topics that are crucial to succeeding.
As to how my sites are doing following Michelle’s methods, I will say that, after cutting back on a lot of my useless sites, I now have about five active sites. I am slowly working to apply all her techniques to each site, which will take several weeks.
Right now, I have been focusing on one of my sites that is almost a year old. Prior to doing anything Michelle instructed in Crowd Mountain, this site was able to get as high as #13 in Google results for my site’s main keyword phrase, which was on the second page of results (I want to be on page one, though!). It had recently dropped drastically in Google results, though the site was not deindexed (thank goodness for this).
Upon completing just a few of the steps, this site came back to the second page of results. This past week I applied a lot more of her techniques. I am happy to say that my site is now ranking between the 4th and 5th place spot on the first page of results for my main keyword phrase. I’m thrilled with this.
I expect the same results from my other sites as I apply the steps to them, too. I can say that the things Michelle instructs are easy to do. Any of you can do them. And they are all white hat (meaning, there is nothing shady or illegal about her steps). In fact, in the Q&A for Module 5, I asked Michelle a question about how to do something she had gone over in one video. She said that I could do what I was asking, but that it was grey hat (meaning, it was not illegal, but was shady). She wanted me to understand why it would not be a good idea for me to do. In case you are wondering what the question was, you will hear it in the Mod 5 Q&A – it has to do with avatars.
I was a member of PLR Pro for quite a while. I think they are a great site and offer a quality product. However, I quit my membership with them this past week. Why? Because what Michelle teaches at Crowd Mountain is better and I realized that I do not need PLR articles with the methods Michelle teaches. And the best part? Crowd Mountain costs a third of what PLR Pro costs. Lastly, I have since learned that many of the steps suggested by PLR Pro simply are not needed. In other words, I was wasting my efforts with the steps given by PLR Pro.
Last week I saw that one of you joined Crowd Mountain (good seeing you there, Julie!). There may be others of you who are also members. Please feel free to share your thoughts. Or, if you are on the fence about joining, what questions do you have?
Sounds cool … how many weeks does it take to get all of the lessons rolled out? Thanks! Suzanne
Hi Rochelle,
I also joined Crowd Mountain at the start and I’ve been loving it as well. I’m a little behind at the moment…I’m up to Module 4.
Unlike you I did skip a few videos early on and then subsequently realised that there were things missing. So I went back to the start and watched every video.
I’m so glad I did go back because it completely filled the gaps I had and it makes total sense now.
Shelley
Is Crowd Mountain primarily oriented toward sites that sell information products, or is it something you are using and find worthwhile for BANS or phpbay type or even ecommerce sites? Thanks.
Hey Rochelle,
Thanks for noticing me.
Yes, I am following you around and I totally agree about CROWD MOUNTAIN. I am blown away with the value of this membership! It is exactly what I need. I began as a newbie less than 2 years ago, and I still have so much to learn. I was on the BANS wagon and have had to accept the rise and fall of that method to online success. Michelle’s focus on wordpress niche sites is exactly what I need, it is a perfect fit for me. One of the best things about Michelle is she knows how to give the best, fine tuned information in a short amount of time so that it doesn’t take hours and hours to hear and see the training that I need. I just don’t have hours and hours for learning. I need time to apply the ideas.
I already have Market Samurai and I was using it regularly, but Michelle showed how to use it even better. Now I want to redo all of my KW research so that I am even more on target before I put effort into new articles or new sites.
Thanks for the heads up on PLR Pro. I was ready to give it a try after reading your review (and others) on Script Detectives, but decided to try Crowd Mountain first.
I have only completed module 1 (and I got to hear your voice on the Q&A call), and I am pumped and excited about what I’m going to be able to accomplish with Michelle’s help.
Rochelle,
What is the plugin that you are using to make PLR Pro and Crowd Mountain show up as links in my post?
Thanks,
Julie
Suzanne,
There are six modules, and you get one per week. So, it would be six weeks to get through all the instructional videos in these modules. You could, if you wanted, quit after two months. I am finding that it is beneficial to go back and review some of the earlier modules, just to solidify the information in my brain. I take lots of notes on them, but found a few holes.
Also, there are currently a few tools that users can use to help promote there sites, with more to come. Michelle hinted in the last Q&A that there may be some type of article submission tool coming soon. If it is what I suspect, then that tool alone will be worth the continued cost of membership.
Rochelle
Shelley,
I think Module 4 is full of a lot of important information on getting affiliate products that suit your site. Definitely watch all the videos!
Take your time with Module 5. It explains all about building links back to your sites, and there is a lot of great information, but it takes a while to get through those videos. I still have one last video to finish before I start in on Module 6.
Rochelle
Hey Rochelle ~ Thanks for the reply. It all sounds awesome! Michelle’s very knowledgeable and savvy so I’m sure she’ll keep adding tools that will make the membership very “sticky” and I know it will all be quality stuff. See you there very soon
*huGs* S
Sallie,
Michelle’s primary focus for the Bootcamp modules is on creating sites that promote one or two affiliate products and are filled with content (short posts, nothing major or long). That being said, she will later explain about how to create ecommerce sites using datafeeds (like eBay).
I am in a situation that I don’t think most of her members are in. Well, first, she knew me prior to Crowd Mountain because I signed up under her mentor program. So, she already knows several of my sites because she worked with me on them. So, now, in Crowd Mountain, when I ask her questions about some of these sites, she already knows what they are and how they are set up. This has helped her answer my questions because she already knows the background of my sites.
This helps people such as you who may already have BANS sites that aren’t doing well (which is my current case) because I am asking her how to deal with these sites. She has given me really good advice specific to what to do with BANS sites and how to add blogs to them to give them new life. Any of you in my same situation listening to the Q&As will benefit from what she’s telling me.
I’ll be honest, though, and admit that I have not yet had a chance to implement what she has advised. I understand, though, what I need to do, and I will start on that as soon as I am done working on my other sites. Then, once all my sites are modified and tweaked to the same level, I can easily work on them all and put the same effort into them each week.
I hope that answers your question, but, if not, just let me know.
Rochelle
Julie,
The plugin I use to add anchor text links to comments is called Cross-Linker. That is just one of the many things I have learned from Michelle at Crowd Mountain ; ) Module 4, I believe.
Rochelle
Suzanne,
Yes, I agree that Michelle is likely to add several more valuable tools to keep people there after the six modules are completed. And, yes, it will be high quality stuff.
I’ve been highly impressed with how she answers questions during the Q&A. Yes, she has a chance to go over the emails that are sent in prior to the conference calls, but then there are a lot more questions that are sent in during the call that she has no prior knowledge of. She has yet to hesitate on an answer. It proves just how well she knows her stuff.
Looking forward to seeing you there : )
Rochelle
Thanks for this post-I have been debating about joining since my friend Karen Kramer told me how great it was. It is great to hear such great feedback. I will definitely be signing up soon!!
Onna,
Crowd Mountain is one of those sites that actually delivers more than it promises. I think it is an excellent investment, regardless of your level of experience. Glad my feedback has helped.
Rochelle
Thank you Rochelle for you excellent answer to my question. I don’t have any problems with my BANS sites, so that’s not an issue (and I hope that continues to be true, knock wood!), but I’m always interested in other possibilities. I haven’t been much of a fan of information products and their affiliate programs, but I’m keeping an open mind and will follow along as you tell us about your progress – you may inspire me to change my mind!
I’m also a member of crowdmountain.com and I have to say its the best I’ve seen. Most other training programs are just an opportunity to “One-time-offer” you to death. With Michelle’s program its just the straight story and is so content rich I’ve fallen behind – still around module 3 – the fact that I had to go to Machu Picchu in Peru for researching my new site didn’t help matters, but hey, you gotta do whatcha gotta do….
Hey Rochelle,
Can you plz tell, how good is the crowdmountain.com support?
Read couple of thread on forums where members say that the support to existing members is lacking.Even lot of module related questions take lot of time or goes unanswered.
Thnx a Lot.
Samir
Samir,
To, to answer your question, I agree that some questions were not being answered, but I didn’t think there was a problem with support. That being said, I suspect that Michelle may have been a bit overwhelmed with the popularity of her new site, as she recently hired someone to help her out on Crowd Mountain. The new hire, Karen, is someone who Michelle has worked with for a while and she seems every bit as knowledgeable as Michelle. Karen has really been great at answering questions along with Michelle.
Also, Michelle added a new section, sort of like a forum but not exactly, where members can go to get a bit more help if they need it.
Does that help?
Rochelle
Hi Rochelle,
I am up to module 3 on Crowd Mountain, so I have heard you on the Q&A recordings.
I am amazed by what I have learned so far on the course. I have watched every video and I love how everything is step-by-step and I can tick it off in the task manager as I go.
The only problem with it is that I get too excited before my next module comes through. I have created a few niche sites, so I have plenty to keep me busy, whilst I wait for each module. This is the best money I ever spent.
Catherine
Catherine,
It’s pretty easy to get excited and want to get ahead of yourself! I encourage you to just go at the pace Michelle sets. That way you will be able to gauge how well her method works compared to other sites you’ve built.
Rochelle
I was making a search on Google for reviews on this program and your site appeared in the third spot. Since I knew you as a trusted source (together with Mark Hansen), from the BANS ventures, and if you say it’s worth trying then I guess I’ll have to give it a shot.
I need to upgrade my BANS sites, together with other domains that are waiting to be monetized with these everchanging rules that put a strain in our already limited available time.
I saw a quote (don’t know the author) which can be applied to this need to keep evolving:
«Once a new technology starts rolling, if you’re not part of the steamroller, your part of the road.»
@Alberto,
That’s a marvelous quote!
As to Crowd Mountain, I do think it’s a great program. I have since joined another program, called Commission Ritual, which is VERY different from Crowd Mountain. You might want to read my post that looks at both programs to see if one or the other is better suited to you: http://www.nichestorestrategie.....che-sites/
Rochelle
Thanks for the reply and for the other suggestion. Will look at it and decide!
Alberto
This is such a Crowd Mountain promotional site. You really have followed the lessons! How a you compensated?
