How to use WP Review Site Plugin

WP Review Site Plugin is a Wordpress blog plugin that lets visitors rate your posts. This can be a great way to engage visitors, as they get to actively participate beyond just adding comments. You can use this plugin for just about anything you might want visitors to review, from YouTube videos to actual products.

My instructions to use WP Review Site Plugin:

Step One

You will either create a new site or add this plugin to an existing Wordpress blog. I will not go over how to do this, as there are already instructions on this blog to do that (see the Index of Listings if you need additional instructions).

Step Two

Upload the review plugin to your site’s plugin folder (…/blog/wp-content/plugins//). If you do not yet have it, click WP Review Site Plugin to purchase it.

Activate the plugin.

You can use this plugin with either the templates included with the plugin, or you can add it to your own templates. If you are uncomfortable getting into the guts of a site (the code), then I strongly recommend you use the WP Review Site Plugin templates. There are two that come with the plugin. Or, you can purchase four more styles by going to the plugin web site.

Choose a template for your blog. Now the fun begins!

Step Three

Click the Settings tab, then the WP Review Site link. This is where you will create the categories people will use when rating your posts.

There should be a default category already listed, called ‘Overall Rating.’ If you like this, then do nothing with it. If you want to change the wording, change it and scroll down to the bottom and click the Save Settings button.

You can add as many categories for people to rate as you like, but you can add them one at a time.

Add a new category by entering your category wording in the ‘Add a Category’ box:

Now, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click the Save Settings button:

Step Four

Start writing blog posts. Were you expecting it to be harder? ; )

It is really pretty easy to create review sites with the WP Review Site Plugin. You can also add other plugins to monetize your blog, such as phpBay Pro or Caffeinated Content.
