Hi Rochelle, I have just got me a reseller account with hostgator. My domain name is the one that I used on my shared account and all of the sub / addon accounts have been moved accross. Apart from changing the DNS info with my various registrars is there anything else that I need to do? I don’t suppose that there is any merit in separating them out into individual accounts? Any advice greatfully received.

No, this wasn’t the same. In my case, I wasn’t getting anything. There were no auctions showing so there was nothing for visitors to click on.

I am getting a little concerned myself. I have experienced no sales for the last week. However, I have been getting impressions and clicks on all of my sites (in fact almost as many as usual)– just no sales. I am wondering now if this is the same thing as you experienced — or just bad luck with sales?!

Yes, you are correct. I was not kicked out of EPN. I can’t say 100% that my IP address was banned, but everything that happened matched what I read about other people who also think they were banned for the same reason. Apparently eBay can determine bad IP addresses and prevent their feeds from displaying on them. Anyone using the banned IP address will no longer show eBay auctions.

The moment I moved my site to its new IP address (the reseller account) it had auctions again. I had a few BANS sites on the shared address and this was true of each of them.

Good questions! Everything was back to normal after I moved my sites from the other host to my reseller account. That was all it took. It wasn’t me that was banned, simply the IP address that I was using, along with who knows who else. Since my reseller account has an IP address unique to me, my new IP address is not banned.

A reseller account is the way to go. And no I don’t sell any either. Hostgator’s Aluminum is a good place to start.

So you weren’t officially kicked out of the EPN program … you’re just figuring that the IP address was banned.

Now that you’ve moved are you getting registered clicks?

Wow, how awful for you. I’d heard about this happening, but didn’t think too much about it.

What can you do about your ebay accounts? will they restore your status, or do you have to reapply, or what are the options?

Thanks for sharing the experience, & sorry you’re going thru it when it wasn’t even your fault!
