Fay is the visitor from undesirable regions. She just won’t go away.
Well, we thought the worst was over. I was awake for several hours in the middle of the night (1:02 to around 3:30am) and things were quiet when I got up and checked.
Unfortunately, Fay kicked things back up around 4am. My husband got up around 6:30am to find our garage flooded. Ironic, since we were concerned with the back porch, not the front garage.
There isn’t much we can do for the stuff in the garage. We did retrieve our four bags of sand (meant for our sandbox) and have sandbagged the door from the house to the garage and the front door. That’s all we can do there.
As to the porch, it had receded during the night but is back up again. Right now the water is almost level with our metal porch frame.
The flooding is bringing out creepy crawlies. I have found some massive spiders. By that, I mean their sizes have been huge. I have some video to share of one I found at 2:30am but I’m to tired to upload it right now.
When this is over I will share more video. For now, just keep your fingers crossed that Fay goes away.
On a slightly humerous sidenote, I saw our neighbors across the street this morning. As we shouted to each other above the rain and distance, she said they had found two catfish in their front yard. I can deal with catfish, but I fear there may also be gators in the area now that everything has flooded.
I may update again later today, but I’m not promising anything ‘cuz I’m running on about less than eight hours of sleep over the past 48 hours.

Wow!
Our prayers are with you. Stay strong.
ALERT! News is reporting gators and snakes are going everywhere with the water now. Advising everyone to stay out of the water! Hope to not alarm you further but it was just on the news as I read your post about it.
We’re all praying for you
