Why I am Loving the Caffeinated Content Plugin

Mark over at The Niche Store Builder recently wrote about a WordPress plugin called Caffeinated Content. This is a plugin that I have started using and I am LOVING it! The Caffienated Content plugin allows users to pull content related to whatever keywords you enter in quantities that you choose.
I actually think this is one of the most useful WordPress plugin I have come across. So, I thought I would share how I am using it, because this plugin is a fabulous way to add content to your blog.
Before I go on I should say that there is nothing this plugin does that you cannot do yourself. The value of it, for me anyway, is that it saves a tremendous amount of time, as I will explain.
For the sake of this post I am going to pretend I have a site that blogs about seaweed, as well as a niche store selling seaweed items. I don’t, but it is what I am eating as I write this, so it is as good as any other topic I could come up with. Plus, it should show the diversity and power of this plugin. Hmmm. I wonder if eBay even sells seaweed? Could be a good niche…

| How does that look? I took the contents of the original question, mixed it with answers, and came up with a unique post written in my words. It took me less than five minute to write this. Next I would modify the title of the post, then save it. I can either publish it right away or schedule it for a future post. | |
| Psst… Did you notice the cool image of seaweed in the upper left corner? This plugin automatically adds an image to each Yahoo Answer post. I have no idea how it figures out what type of image to add, but I have yet to see it put in inaccurate picture. If you don’t like the image then you can simply delete it. I, however, love them as it adds a nice touch to my posts. | |

| As I already stated above, I could achieve the same thing (minus the images in the upper left corners, although I’m sure I can add those, too, if I want to take the time to look for images to use) by going to Yahoo Answers. I can find questions, copy them, and edit them. | |
| I like this plugin because it does the work for me in about 20 seconds. Plus, if I do this manually I am likely to start running into duplicate posts. By this, I mean I will get to a point where I do not know if I have already used a question or not. This plugin prevents this from happening by keeping track of questions it has imported. If you ever clear the history for this plugin then you will start from the beginning as though you had not ever imported questions. | |

| If you want to add videos related to your blog’s niche then use this plugin to easily add them. I have gone to YouTube in the past and found that I can take 10 minutes finding a video relating to my niche. I have found it to be much easier with this plugin. | |

| Note that the name of the person who posted the video is at the top (it says jfk529B asked:), as well as the Caffeinated Content link at the bottom. Note, also, that there is whatever text the creator of the video included with the video. This is great because it gives you a start on creating unique content for the post. In this case, I will reword this slightly. | |

| I cannot speak about this aspect of the plugin because I have not use it. I did a search for articles using the keyword ‘seaweed’ and it created 9 posts (I asked for 10, so apparently there are only 9 articles from whereever this pulls articles from). But, if you want to use this feature it would be pretty much the same as above. | |

There is only one other plugin that I intend to spend time on. I have done so now because I think this plugin is truly a timesaver and worth the cost of purchasing it.
Speaking of its cost, according to Mark, the cost of this plugin has been creeping up. I cannot verify the accuracy of this statement, but if true [edit: I just found this on Caffeinated Content's website: "Why does the cost go up every time I visit?! We do things a bit differently around here. Every time someone purchases a piece of software from us, the price will go up by a random amount for the next person."], my guess is that it is being raised to prevent a flood of users.
Lastly, I want to say that I completely disagree with how the creator’s of Caffeinated Content are promoting this plugin. If you watch their video demonstrating how to use it, you may get the idea that you should import questions and comments and publish them as is. Do not do this! Doing so will result in duplicate content, which you do not want. Spend a little time rewriting each post, then publishing it.
I would love to hear from any of you who are also using this plugin. Do you like it? Is it helping you create unique content for your blogs? Or would you rather do this all manually?

I’ve been using this plug-in on a few of my niche sites for a while now and find it very useful. I use it pretty much the way you suggest but I leave a couple comments from time to time, rewritten of course to give the blog the appearance of activity and encourage others to comment. Finding articles is a little tricky for smaller niches, but there a plenty for the broader ones.

If you purchased the plugin through the link you provided then you got lucky. I just checked it out and the link is no longer valid. My guess is the auther of the plugin forgot about this link, then was alerted to it from someone purchasing from it.

Great job as usual with your walk-through tutorials Rochelle!! I checked that link too.. its dead. Looks like it was a launch promo or something.
I have to ask though… what does Seaweed taste like? I am a meat & Potatoes guy, so lettuce is probably the closest I have gotten!

I don’t know that I can explain what seaweed tastes like, but it is nothing like lettuce! I absolutely adore seaweed salad made by a local meat market in town. I suspect seaweed doesn’t have much of a taste on its own, but the sesame seeds and seasoning make it fabulous. Fresh seaweed is crunchy. Good stuff!
Nope, I sure did not realize I have two ‘subscribe to comments’ boxes. I think I will leave them alone, as removing one might unsubscribe people from seeing additional comments.

Sounds good, Rochelle, but when I’ve seen it in action (yes, it’s recognizable!) it’s removed all attribution and articles from article banks have all their links and author credit removed.
Don’t know if that’s an optional setting on the plugin but as an ezinearticles author myself it’s not a practice I endorse!

I think this is recognizable only when people are somewhat lazy about using it. If you completely rewrite the posts, as I did above, then the only thing that might give it away is the picture. But even that is questionable, as I have seen plenty of blog posts that include pictures (including some of my own).
James brings up a very good point regarding articles. If someone pulls articles with this plugin and uses the articles verbatim, then you should leave in the author information. I agree with you that I do not endorse that.

In regard to seeing all the original text from questions on the import… you can actually edit the templates that are provided with the plugin, removing those areas so they never show at all.
I have actually left them in place on purpose, just to make sure I do not auto-approve them, thus having duplicate content.
I like to review every question I import, sometimes deleting the ones I didnt really want, then rewrite the questions and ansers to my own needs.

I arrived at your site checking our RSS for BANS sites. Is the process you write about for a stand-alone BANS site?

This is a plugin for WordPress, so you would not be able to use it on a BANS-only site. You could, however, set up a WP site that is for you and not the public, and use the plugin to get ideas for writing about. You could then create Content pages for each idea. That would be a little awkward, but you could do it.

Cool looking program. I can’t believe I haven’t seen this one before. I have to check it out.
CC used to be a good plugin until the support became non existant. Too many problems with the plugin at the moment. Will not post to Yahoo Answers anymore AND no more titles for articlebase source pulling.
There is a reason why it’s so cheap now. Half of the plugin doesn’t work! I have been an owner for a lil over a month and the problems with the program continue with no support. Didn’t use to be like that when I first purchased though.
I think the creators are aware of the problems. I just got an email yesterday or today stating they are working on an update to take care of issues that arose when WordPress 2.7 was released. Personally, I haven’t had any problems (but admit that I’m still using WP 2.6). I still use this and still recommend it.

I found this post very helpful! I purchased last night and was able to use a coupon code for 30% off: Redhot30 was the code, so got it for $53…still no $27, but I was happy with the discount.
They have also worked out some of the problems people have been having for the last couple of weeks.
Oh, What is the debug mode? Should I check that box?

Awesome post Rochelle! I’ve been looking for something like this and am very excited about it. I love the idea of cooking up few dozen articles on subject-related/ niched related topics, then scheduling them to post over the next 6-12 months. Talk about set it and forget it content!

Couple of questions:
1. Generally speaking how many words do you think are an appropriate minimum for search engine spider food? It looks like your re-write is about 250 words…the SE’s need about 160 for an excerpt and people don’t want to read a ton of stuff these days anyway. Thoughts on this?
2. What other options/ locations are there to get content?

Re: Your first question, that’s tough to answer. But, if forced to answer, I would say at least 250-300 words. Enough to provide content, which is what Google wants.
Re: Your second question, there are TONS of other locations! Article directories are a great resource, with http://ezinearticles.com/ being one of the most popular. A quick search through Google or Yahoo will provide you with plenty of other options.

Sorry, now I understand. Using the plugin you can get content from Yahoo Answers, YouTube, and an article directory (I don’t remember which one). Up to this point, I’ve only used Yahoo Answers.
Yes, I am still loving it, but, to be honest, I haven’t done much with it lately. You may or may not be aware, but my house was flooded last August (you can search my site for more information about this, if interested, as this site was my only way of communicating with people for a while and I kept family and friends updated with posts on here). Although it is now seven months later, I am still overwhelmed with work on the house. That has been where most of my efforts have been since August.
Sadly, I’ve not done much at all regarding Internet stuff since the flood.
Happily, I am finally getting to a point where I am able to start doing stuff again. I fully intend to start using Caffeinated Content again, once I am back to working on my sites. I hope that wasn’t more information than you wanted ; )

I no longer get a “Leave a Reply” section on any of my pages after installing CC, anyone else have this problem. It could be another plug-in, not sure. Any suggestions? WP 2.9, CC 3.3.7

I just checked this on a site I just completed today. I activated and set up Caffeinated Content, then added a video using this plugin and created a new post. I viewed the page and it does have the “Leave a reply” area in tact.
I would try a different theme, and see if this problem is resolved or remains. If not, then try deactivated all your plugins, except for CC. Check your site to see if you can now leave a reply. If so, then it is an incompatibility issue with another plugin.
To figure out which plugin is not playing nice with CC, start activating them, one by one, and checking your site after each activation, until you no longer have the ability to leave a reply. You will then know which plugin is causing a problem.
