Your question is valid regarding whether I wrote this post just to get affiliate sales from Market Samurai. No, I didn’t. I was genuinely upset and frustrated, and never imagined that my post would be read by someone at Wordtracker.

The honest truth is that I never took them up on their offer, simply because I no longer had the time to do so. It may very well be a wonderful tool. I welcome any input from people who have used it.

I just read your post and FYI I own Market Samurai and love it. I am however intrigued by the Word Tracker product because I am a big fan of Dan Thies — from http://www.seofaststart.com as he endorses the product in his book.

Now while I feel your pain in relation to the initial support problems (haven’t we all had those) what I do what to know is did you take up the offer for a fee look at Word Tracker from Mal above (to provide a fair comparison) and if so what is your opinion of the product now ?

Or is this a post like many out there that complain about a product by picking on a one bad experience just to highlight the benefits of another to benefit from directing people through an affiliate link….not saying it is by the way just curious cause there is a lot of crap out there which I am sure you can appreciate.

Don’t get me wrong I love Market Samurai but I wold like an impartial view of the product is all. No problem if you can’t answer my question just curious is all.

I’m Mal, and I work with Wordtracker Customer Support. Phew, you’ve not had a good time with us – I’m sorry about this – although I’m glad you took the time to write this post, because at least now we’ve got a better idea of what’s been going on for you. I’ve had a look back at our ticket history and found the messages that you sent – we did reply to them, but I notice that yesterday they were returned to us as undeliverable. This unfortunately did happen to a few people, but we’ve made some changes to the e-mails themselves and so this problem shouldn’t now occur. To be perfectly frank, it’s not the kind of customer support that we would choose to offer, or pride ourselves on – it’s true that we’ve had some teething problems with this, but we’ve been working hard to set things straight, and the majority of customers have had issues such as these resolved more quickly – I’m sorry you didn’t.

In terms of the tool itself, I think you’d find it quite useful. It does differ from the Market Samurai tool, in that it uses data from Majestic SEO who have independently crawled and indexed around two trillion pages. The Wordtracker Linkbuilder tool also offers a rank for each link, allowing you to prioritise your work.

I’d also like to respond to your comment about price – as you’re probably well aware, for many organizations, a link from the right place can be invaluable – so the monthly subscription can easily pay for itself – and if it suits a customer better, it’s easy to come in for a month and work on their campaign and then leave the account dormant before coming back another time – it doesn’t have to stay open constantly.

It’s not in our nature to want a customer to leave Wordtracker unhappy, or without having had a chance to get to know the tools – I realise it’s probably hard for you to see that right now, but we’d be happy to offer you a month’s use of the tool with our compliments – this should give you time to use the tool and get a good feel for it. Again, our apologies for the experience you’ve had – as I said, it’s not something we’d choose for any of our customers.

Market Samurai is an awesome product! I use both that and Micro Niche Finder pretty much equally. Love them both!! I also love that they are just one-time payment products : )
